Orange Pineapple Smoothie

We’re excited about sharing this smoothie.  Apart from being absolutely delicious this smoothie is a great source of essential fatty acids and protein, making it great for weight management.  In addition, the micronutrients from this particular smoothie also assist in reducing inflammation and swelling.

Important Note – Phytotherapi’s weight loss or diabetes protocols use a specific Nutritional Guide.  If you’re currently undergoing those protocols, wait until after you’re done with the program before eating this smoothie. 

Ingredients (1 – 2 portions):

  1. 1 cup, fresh orange juice

  2. 1/4 cup, almonds

  3. 1 Tbs. vanilla extract

  4. 1/4 cup, water

  5. 2 Tbs. freshly ground flax seeds or flax meal

  6. 1/2 cup, frozen pineapple chunks

Directions:

  1. Place the fresh orange juice, almonds, vanilla extract, water and freshly ground flax seeds (or flax meal) in a blender.  Blend for 30 seconds.  Add frozen pineapple to blender and blend for another 30 seconds.
